When it rains, it pours...
  1. 2 weeks ago today, I got married!
  2. Our honeymoon was in France. We were in Paris for 3 days and Provence for 5 days -- Avignon, Isle sur la Sorgue, Nimes, Pont du Gard, and Vaison la Romaine. Pictures to come soon.
  3. I got published!
More about getting published: Back in November 2003, the online group MoveOn.org sent a message to its members asking for stories of personal action to reinvigorate our communities and the democratic process. The response was overwhelming -- they received over 2,500 essays from citizens all over the country.

Out of all those essays, the MoveOn.org staff chose 50 essays to print in a book titled 50 Ways to Love Your Country. An essay I wrote and submitted is one of those 50 essays!

The book will also feature introductions by Gail Sheehy, Nancy Pelosi, and Al Gore. And if that doesn't tickle your fancy, maybe this will:
"MoveOn's 50 Ways to Love Your Country is a user-friendly 'How To' guide for fixing our broken democracy. Both nuts-and-bolts practical and deeply personal, this book is political Viagra for anyone tired of feeling hopeless, helpless, and impotent in the face of our Big Money/Big Media-controlled political system."
-- Arianna Huffington, syndicated columnist and author
The book's pretty affordable -- just $10.95 -- so please support my fledgling foray into publication and buy a copy from a locally owned bookstore! Or if you just can't wait, order it from Powell's or Amazon. Also, there will be events at bookstores all around the country, many featuring contributors like yours truly! Check the list of events to see if there will be one in your area, and please try to make it out to support the book!
