Shopgirl was so perfect that I cried when it was over. I highly recommend it to anyone who has ever had "the conversation" at the beginning of a relationship, the one that "consists of one involved party telling another involved party the limits of their interest."

I saw Gov. Gary Johnson of New Mexico speak at the Shadow Convention and I was very impressed. I mean, he's a Republican that realizes that we have to treat addicts, not just throw them in jail.

Now he's calling for a radical overhaul of the state's drug policies. [via ghost in the machine]
Gov. Johnson said, "You hear you're going to lose your mind and go crazy and even die if you smoke marijuana." Johnson added, "You have to tell the truth. When kids realize you're lying, they will no longer listen to you. They may think the stuff you've been telling them about other drugs isn't true either ... People try pot and they don't go crazy."

Senator Thad Cochran (R-MS) announced his support of McCain-Feingold. Kudos! Email him to thank him, especially if you live in Mississippi. Or better yet, call or fax him: 202-224-5054 (phone), 202-224-9450 (fax).
