Consexual Text is my kind of weblog: "sexuality, society, miscellany, culture." Thanks to CT, I found libida.com, which is a great resource for sex stories, health info, and other features, kind of like nerve.com. I especially liked that their feature on the presidential race mentioned more than just the major two-party candidates.

You all must see The Contender! I hadn't heard much about it, but I was pleasantly surprised. I only wish more politicians were like the Vice Presidential nominee in that movie.

Gotta love this twist. Sign this petition asking Gore to withdraw from the race because he's spoiling the national election for Nader.

Send an e-postcard to the "Big Three" American car companies to tell them we want viable, energy efficient vehicles now!

A Widow for One Year was good, solid John Irving. If you're already an Irving fan, I highly recommend it. (New to Irving? Start out with Garp.)

I couldn't buck the trend for much longer, so I'm now reading Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone and I'll continue in order until I'm all Pottered out.

Take the post-debate survey! Be sure to mention that the 15% rule for third parties to be included in the debates is just plain silly, especially cuz we only require them to have 5% to get taxpayer money to pay for their campaign!

Amber found me, and I found her. Yay for blogging Naderites! Oh, and don't forget to voice your support for your favorite candidate.

I'm so glad I caught Living On Earth on NPR tonight:
KNOY: I have to ask you the spoiler question. And I'll ask it this way: what would you say to a liberal voter who likes your positions on the issues but is afraid that the vote for you essentially amounts to a vote for Republican George Bush?

NADER: Well, I would say wait until the day before the election. If you live in states where Bush or Gore are going to landslide one another, Texas--Bush, New York State--Gore, then you can safely watch the least worst win and vote for the Greens in terms of a watchdog function, and to send a message to the least worst that they should really try to be better. That is about 40 states where either Bush or Gore are going to win big. In the close states, you can ask yourself, do you want your Senators and Representatives to vote their conscience in Washington? If your answer is yes, ask yourself why you don't vote your conscience? Do you want to waste your vote on two parties that have been wasting our democracy? Or do you want to vote your hopes, your dreams, not your fears? Do you want to vote for a better America, a new progressive politics?
But before that, I caught Witness to an Execution on All Things Considered. It was gut-wrenching to hear the accounts of the people that carry out and witness executions for a living. How can we let this happen in our country? Jeez...a third of them are happening in my own state. We need a moratorium, and fast.

Of all the candidate selectors out there, the Speak Out selector has been the most accurate. Nader popped out on top for me, with Bradley a close second (though it indicated that he has withdrawn).

Nader had a ticket to the debate last night, but when he got to the door, representatives of the Commission on Presidential Debates turned him away, saying he wasn't welcome. Uh, okay. Let's all play nice and not challenge the status quo. That's the path to a great society. You can email the Commission at info@debates.org.
